Camping space for visitors and a school cycle track for teaching youngsters to ride a bike safely are among ideas being considered as Addingham’s gets ready for next year’s Tour de France.
The Grand Depart of the world-renowned cycle race will visit Addingham twice next summer.
About 60 people attended a meeting in the village, called by Addingham Civic Society, to discuss Addingham’s plans for ‘Le Tour’. A group of volunteers has been formed to look into different aspects of the visit, and possible projects.
Bradford councillor Adrian Naylor (Ind, Craven) is chairman of the group. He has hopes of there being a lasting legacy of the event, as well as celebrations around the event.
