Britain’s oldest living former marine, 101-year-old Albert Joyner will be guest of honour at Bradford City Hall on Monday at an event to commemorate the granting of his honorary life membership of the Royal Marines’ Association.
Mr Joyner, of Keighley, who is president of the northern regional Royal Marines’ Association, will be accompanied by his daughter Pam and will be presented with the honour by David West and Brian Broadbent, of the Royal Marines’ Association.
The great-great-grandfather was an apprentice tailor by trade before serving with the Royal Marines for 26 years as a colour sergeant.
