A planned expansion to an animal rendering plant, to which dozens of residents and MP Philip Davies have objected, is set to get the go-ahead next week.
Omega Proteins, based at Erlings Works on Half Acre Road, Denholme, has applied to build a single-storey building to house a boiler. The plans go before Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee on Tuesday and planning officers have recommended them for approval.
The objections claimed the company has not complied with previous planning conditions and raise fears the new building would lead to an increase in traffic to the site. The boiler has already been built, although it is not currently operational.
The meeting at Bradford City Hall starts at 10am.
