Families drew inspiration from a ‘Golden’ exhibition when they made masquerade masks and peg dolls at an event in Bradford.
More than 100 people took part in the free drop-in workshop at Cartwright Hall art gallery.
It was held in support of Golden Threads Accessorised, which displays items that Bradford’s Young Ambassadors created after exploring and reinterpreting historic designs held within Bradford Council’s museum collection.
Items on show at the exhibition include suit bags, masquerade masks, vintage coats, and hatpins.
Highlights include 11 waistcoats, one of which was designed exclusively for Seb Coe. Photographs of former and current Young Ambassadors dressed in casual bespoke party wear also feature.
The exhibition is at the gallery until September 15.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, the Council’s executive member for culture, said: “It is wonderful to be able to showcase the work of Bradford’s Young Ambassadors with this exhibition, which takes a contemporary look at the district’s proud textile heritage.”
