A series of discussions on the future relationship between Kirklees Council and the communities it serves will take place throughout June.
The public meetings – called It’s Time To Talk will discuss the role of residents and community groups in helping the Council achieve its aims for the district, following cuts in funding from central Government.
Council leader Mehboob Khan said it was a crucial first step in discussing how things traditionally offered by the council might be provided differently.
Local events include Birstall and Birkenshaw, at St Peter’s Parish Church, Kirkgate, Birstall, on June 4, 7pm to 9pm, and Spen Valley, at Cleckheaton Town Hall, Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, on June 18, 7pm to 9pm.
