The sixth annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic for people taking part in the Born in Bradford project was held today.
Hospitals and health care providers ran stalls to publicise their health services to Bradford families across all communities and all areas of the district at the event in Lister Park, Manningham.
They were joined by staff from the Council and voluntary services, who offered advice and information to parents while their children played.
The Born in Bradford project began recruiting in March 2007, with researchers asking every mum who gave birth at Bradford Royal Infirmary to join the research programme, which aims to improve the health of children by finding out what makes them ill.
A total of 13,857 children have been signed up to the study, which is the biggest of its kind in the world.
