A Cullingworth cabbie has narrowly missed out being named the nation’s best, but says it was still “fantastic” to get the recognition.
Nadeem Ahmed, 46, a driver for DCW Cullingworth Private Hire, came second in the nationwide search to find Britain’s best taxi driver, organised by insurer Swinton Taxi Division.
Mr Ahmed was chosen as a finalist for his outgoing attitude and dedication to his customers, and his campaign work in support of his fellow cabbies. He beat 198 other entrants.
Mr Ahmed, who co-founded the Independent Private Hire Association Bradford, this year, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic – it is a national competition so coming second isn’t too bad.”
