Pupils at Woodside Academy, Bradford, have been learning about the dangers of doing business with loan sharks and put on a play to spread the message.
West Yorkshire Trading Standards has been working with the school and a professional theatre company to put on the 'play in a day' as part of its Smart Life project. The children put on a performance to share what they had learned with their families and also got involved in a competition to create the design of a mug promoting the Stop Loan Sharks helpline.
Graham Hebblethwaite, chief officer of West Yorkshire Trading Standards said: “Educating pupils in a fun and interactive way whilst warning them of the dangers of dealing with illegal money lenders that blight our local communities, at a young age, will better prepare them for adulthood.”
