Running one marathon this spring was not enough for a Keighley restaurateur.
Syed Ahmed, right, first completed the London Marathon and has now run the Edinburgh Marathon, despite having a long-term spinal condition.
The owner of Moghuls in North Street finished the Edinburgh event in four hours 54 minutes.
“It was a bit of a struggle, but once I got to the halfway mark it was fine,” he said.
“It’s hard enough running a marathon when you’re fit, but to have finished two marathons when I have ankylosing spondylitis proves anything is achievable if you put your mind to it.”
He ran the with his brother-in-law Kamal Chowdhury, who lives in Manchester. Mr Ahmed, 45, who is a married father-of-two, was running to raise £4,000 to help people with prostate cancer.
