A nine-year-old Ilkley schoolgirl who has shown great talent on violin and piano has been offered a place at the famous Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey.
Alexandra Keeley, who attends Westville House School in Ilkley, has been learning to play for four years.
When she was seven she gained a place to study both the violin and piano at the Junior Department of the Royal Northern College of Music.
She has competed successfully at music festivals in Harrogate, Wharfedale, Skipton, Holmfirth and Bingley and played first violin in the 11 and under National Chilxdren’s Orchestra.
Her mother and teacher, violinist Tracy Keeley, said:”Alex has a passion and talent for music. She has worked tirelessly.”
