A charity that helps blind residents in Wharfedale and Aireborough keep up to date with the news is appealing for people to spread the word.
Otley and District Talking Newspaper has been providing its service, which sees news items recorded and posted out to visually impaired people across the area each week, since 1984.
The group heard at its annual meeting that its switch from using CDs to memory sticks had been successful.
Chairman Trevor Davey thanked the volunteers for their work, but said he was concerned about the declining number of listeners. He said: “We need to take every opportunity to spread the word that we can help blind and partially sighted people to hear their local news.”
Anybody who knows someone who would benefit from the service is asked to contact Mr Davey on (0113) 284 2976 or John Barker on (01943) 461401.
