An Otley pub is ‘ringing’ the changes with a new name, new look, more space – and the introduction of cask ales.
What was the Ring o’ Bells, on New Market, will begin a new era as the Otley Tavern at a VIP opening night on Thursday.
The inn has been transformed during a £100,000-plus renovation which has involved re-opening the original entrance, moving the bar to the rear wall, and creating a small stage for live entertainment.
Landlord Peter Jackson, who also chairs Otley Pub Club, said: “It looks fantastic inside, with the designers making better use of the available space to increase the capacity. We’ve now got two permanent beers from WharfeBank Brewery, one from Black Sheep, and a guest ale.”
Mr Jackson will run the Otley Tavern with his wife and co-licensee Fiona. The couple have 25 years’ experience in the pub trade.
