Keighley firefighters were called to help a six-year-old boy who had become trapped between a wall and a lamp post in the town last night.
Watch commander Steve Moorhouse said the boy had slipped down between the wall and lamp post in Malsis Road, Knowle Park, and his leg had become stuck.
“All we did was use our hydraulic spreading gear to move the coping stone of the wall away from the lamp post,” he said. “We only had to move it about half an inch.”
Mr Moorhouse said the boy's father had raised the alarm at 8.30pm and the crew was able to free the child in 15 minutes, adding that he was not seriously hurt.
