A world record was set at Skipton Auction Mart when sheep dog Bob was sold for 8,800 guineas (£9,240).
It is the highest price paid for a working sheep dog at an official sale, smashing the previous record of 8,000gns (£8,400) which was established at Skipton in October.
The 15-month-old black and white dog was sold by former Giggleswick man John Bell, who has held the record on three previous occasions.
Now 82, Mr Bell paid 300gns (£315) for Bob as a 13-week-old pup at Skipton last year and has since worked his magic in bringing on the dog at home.
