Calls by councillors to relax affordable housing quotas to boost the construction industry in the Skipton area have been rejected.
Craven District Council’s policy committee was asked to allow a two-year reduction in the number of affordable houses required in new developments from 40 to 25 per cent. But the proposals were rejected by the majority of councillors.
