Keighley Playhouse’s production of Making Waves swelled the coffers of lifeboat charity the RNLI.
The play, performed earlier this year, told of the sacrifices made by a family that contained two generations of lifeboatmen. Collections were held during each of the six performances in aid of the RNLI, raising £520.
Hannah Jackson, the charity’s community fundraising manager, said the money would have a direct impact on the RNLI.
“Every penny can make a difference to preventing a loss of life at sea,” she said.
Robin Martin, director of the play, said: “On behalf of Keighley Playhouse, the cast and I are extremely grateful to our loyal audience for their support of the RNLI.
“It shows that although this part of Yorkshire is in an insular geographical position, the work the RNLI administrates is never far from our thoughts.”
