Masked robbers brandishing knives stormed into a Bradford store where they forced staff to open the tills and fled with the cash.

Police are appealing for information after the armed robbery at The Co-operative on Harrogate Road, Eccleshill, at 9.55pm last night.

They say two men, wearing balaclavas and armed with knives, entered the store and made demands of the staff to open the tills.

The thieves then helped themseves to cash from the tills and fled.

The first suspect is described as a white man, 6ft tall of skinny build and described as young, not over 20 years old.

He was wearing a duck egg blue hooded top with his hood up, blue denim jeans, black gloves and a thin nylon balaclava with eye holes cut out.

The second was a white man, 5ft 10ins tall and of skinny build. He wore blue denim jeans and a grey hooded top with the hood up, with a similar facial covering.

Di Ryan Bragg, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “Airedale and North Bradford police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw any who may have any information about this offence to contact DC Paul Maxwell at Airedale and North Bradford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
