A pub is toasting its success after winning a real ale group’s Pub of the Season award.
Off the Tap in Bingley received the accolade from the Bradford branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (Camra) on Wednesday night.
The pub was chosen because it is one of the few in the country to serve beers directly from the cask. It makes the most of its unusual serving methods with the slogan ‘A beer festival everyday!’ Landlord Andrew Boggett said he was constantly changing which ales were on offer to give drinkers chance to sample different brews.
He said: “They know that when they come in there’s going to be something different all the time. All the beers are supplied by local breweries and we have brews from all around the country. Local breweries swap their brews with others.”
Mr Boggett, who is running a pub for the first time, said he was proud of the achievement.
Bradford Camra member Tony Constable said: “The pub has been open for about a year and it seems to have built up quite a good trade. It advertises itself as an ongoing beer festival because there’s about eight beers on gravity.
“It serves good real ale and that’s what Camra’s all about.”
