Dig out your flares and prepare for some 1970s style Good Times as the latest act for Bingley Music Live is announced.

Disco pioneers CHIC, featuring Nile Rodgers, are confirmed for this summer’s festival in Myrtle Park.

The seminal New York outfit, whose guitarist is riding high in the charts with Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, will appear alongside Primal Scream, The Human League, The Cribs and Loveable Rogues.

CHIC, the brainchild of Nile and bassist Bernard Edwards, had some of the biggest disco hits in the 1970s including Le Freak, I Want Your Love, Everybody Dance and Good Times.

Nile is also a sought-after producer who worked on Madonna’s Material Girl, Blondie’s Rapture, Duran Duran’s The Reflex, and Sister Sledge’s We Are Family.

Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member responsible for leisure, said: “It is a huge coup to bring CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers to this year’s Bingley Music Live and it demonstrates how much the festival has grown over the last seven years. They will appeal to people of all ages – from those who grew up with disco through to youngsters being introduced to their music via their collaborative work – and their addition helps to make the line-up the strongest we’ve had to date.”

Tickets are available from bingleymusiclive.com/tickets or on 0871 220 0260. There are also a limited number of children’s tickets available.

The festival, organised by Bradford Council, will be held between Friday, August 30, and Sunday, September 1.
