A consumer watchdog is warning people to be careful when buying chargers for electrical items.
West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service did a survey into the safety of cheap phone and laptop chargers following complaints to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service about them exploding or catching fire.
Trading Standards officers bought chargers across West Yorkshire and found some had the wrong fuse or poor insulation, risking the chance of electrocution.
Shoppers are being advised to buy from a reputable firms.
