Fraudsters who offered fake gems for sale in Bradford have struck again.
Police are warning the public to be on their guard for the conmen who have now offended three times.
The latest reported incident happened in Huddersfield on May 3 when the victim was offered gold nuggets for sale for a substantial amount of money by two men. After purchasing the nuggets, he found they were fake.
Similar incidents took place in Huddersfield in February, and Bradford city centre earlier this month, when the victim paid a £2,000 ‘deposit’ for two gold bars, which he was told were to be sold to pay for a delivery. But the men disappeared with the ‘gold’ and the cash.
Anyone who is approached by the men should contact Carolyne White, of Huddersfield CID, on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
