The first ‘Ladies Luncheon’ raised £24,000 for Marie Curie Bradford Hospice.
The Cafe In To The Opera at Salts Mill was transformed into a vibrant events hall with more than 200 guests enjoying a lunch to raise money for the Bradford hospice.
June Kenton, the woman responsible for building lingerie retailer Rigby & Peller into an internationally-recognised name, entertained guests with recollections of her 40-year-long career.
Mrs Kenton, who is Grantee of Royal Warrant as Corsetiere to The Queen, spoke of the importance of breast awareness, and how essential it is to encourage women to be vigilant at all stages of their lives.
Sharon Link, Bradford Hospice fundraising manager for Marie Curie, commented: “I would like to thank all the volunteers who worked really hard to make this event so special."
