An open day held to recruit volunteers to help save Clayton Village Hall from closure was a success, according to organisers.
The village hall owned by all Clayton residents was only run by a group of five volunteers and trustees but now they have 19 new people prepared to help.
The group made an urgent plea last month.
More than 100 people turned out to the event.
But trustees are still welcoming more volunteers. They particularly want someone with DIY skills.
