Students at Southfield Grange School are hosting a delegation of 25 visitors from Bradford’s twin town of Hamm in Germany who are coming to take part in disability sports events in the district.
The events have been organised by the charity Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure and Southfield Grange School, with support from Bradford Council’s sport and adventure development units.
The visitors will be trying water sports with dragon boat racing, kayaking, sailing, climbing and raft building at Doe Park.
Some of the delegation attended the inauguration of the new Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Khadim Hussain, at Bradford City Hall.
Councillor Andrew Thornton said: “I am absolutely delighted that this event is taking place in our district and I hope this is the start of a continuing legacy.”
