Police officers stopped 20 vehicles to check their road worthiness and documents today.
Officers from the Tong, Wyke and Holme Wood and Brighouse Neighbourhood Policing Teams worked with the Vehicle Operating Standards Agency and the Environments Agency for the operation at the crossroads near the Wyke Lion pub – known locally as ‘Hellfire Crossroads’.
Throughout the morning they stopped 20 vehicles, including vans, car transporters and light goods vehicles.
Two fixed penalties were issued for drivers’ MOTs being out of date.
One man was issued a fixed penalty for having a defective windscreen, VOSA issued three prohibition notices and one man was reported for summons for having no licence and insurance. His vehicle was seized.
