Detectives yesterday appealed for witnesses to a crash on a country lane in Bradford that killed a 42-year-old motorcyclist.
The man, who has not yet been named, was riding a Honda motocross bike, which was in collision with a Peugeot 307 car, at about 6.45pm on Saturday, in Tyersal Lane.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision is believed to have taken place at the Black Hey Farm end of Tyersal Lane.
The male car driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured.
Councillor John Ruding (Tong, Lab) said: “It sounds like a tragic accident. It is devastating for the family and everyone’s thoughts will be with them for the immediate future.”
Anyone with information about the crash should call 101 or the Major Collision Enquiry Team at West Yorkshire Police on (01924) 293047.
