Cannabis dealers who continue to sell the drug on Bradford’s streets after they have been caught and bailed will be locked up, a judge has warned.
Ali Hussain, 24, of Tivoli Place, Little Horton, Bradford, was jailed for nine months yesterday for persistently peddling the Class B drug from cars.
Judge Robert Bartfield told him: “If you sell cannabis, and keep on doing it in spite of court orders and bail, there is only one sentence.”
Hussain pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis on August 9, 2011, and September 6, 2011.
He was caught in possession of the drug on August 20 that year.
Police stopped him with small bags of cannabis and amounts of cash, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Ali’s barrister, Shufqat Khan, said he was dealing to friends to fund his £35 a day cannabis addiction.
He had been out of trouble since and had found work in a takeaway restaurant.
