Otley’s new town mayor paid tribute to her predecessor’s “extraordinary” hard work as she took over the role.
Councillor Pam Gill (Lab, Manor) was handed the chains of office by Councillor Mary Vickers (Lib Dem, Prince Henry) at the Town Council’s AGM.
Describing her appointment as “a great honour”, Coun Gill said: “I would like to thank Mary for all her hard work..”
Coun Gill became a councillor in 1996 and helped form Otley Action for Older People, of which she is a trustee.
