Bradford 1 Gallery is celebrating 100 years of Bollywood with an exhibition of historic film posters.
Called Bollywood, Bradford and Beyond, the display at the Centenary Square gallery features the work of photographer Tim Smith and reflects on the impact Indian cinema has had on Britain.
The Bollywood posters, which Bradford Museums acquired from a local collector in 1994, show the variety of films screened in the city from the 1950s to 1980s, ranging from black and white classics to blockbusters.
The photographs provide a glimpse behind the scenes of the Bollywood industry in Britain.
Bradford became famous for showing Indian and Pakistani films in the 1960s and cinemas such as the Roxy and Sangeet attracted visitors from all over the north of England.
In the 1980s Asian entertainment made a big impact on the wider British landscape.
The exhibition, running until August 24, is one of several events taking place in Bradford to mark the centenary of Indian cinema.
