Brollies, waterproofs and wellies were much in evidence at a fun-packed, but decidedly soggy, 204th Otley Show.
The rain fell persistently throughout Saturday morning but those who braved the weather were rewarded with impressive horse, livestock, poultry and crafts and produce displays.
They also witnessed some death-defying stunts, with stuntman Mark Stannage cheerily setting his wife on fire and lifting his son high up on top of a hydraulic crane so he could dive on to a rain-covered air bag far below.
If that caused gasps from the crowds at the Bridge End showground then so did the exploits of the Galloping Acrobatics, who made horseback handstands and other equine tricks seem effortless despite the slippy conditions.
Show secretary Janet Raw, speaking shortly before a drier, midday spell began, said: "It's a shame about the weather but I'm very, very pleased that a lot of people have still turned out and most events have been able to run as normal.
"The forecast was horrendous so I was pleasantly surprised with what we got - it wasn't incessant rain, though it did affect the crowd.
"And the ground has stayed in good shape. We're pleased to have been able to put on a good show despite the weather, and see people turn up for it."
