Post Office services could soon return to Oxenhope after the company said it was just waiting for the go- ahead to open up a branch in the village’s Co-op.
The Post Office closed almost two years ago after the postmaster retired and the building on Station Road was sold on.
In January a consultation was launched to see if villagers wanted a counter offering Post Office services set up in the Co-op, also on Station Road.
That consultation ended in February, and PO chiefs say they are eager to move forward once they gets the go-ahead from the Co-Op.
A spokesman for the Post Office said: “We are keen to restore services to Oxenhope with a modern open-plan ‘local’ branch with significantly extended opening hours.
“We have found a potential new operator.
“We look forward to being able to restore the service as we are confident that a new-style branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us.”
