A man who threatened his wife with a kitchen knife in front of their terrified young daughter has been sentenced to a probation order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
Abdul Mannan jabbed the weapon at his wife’s face after losing his temper at home on October 22 last year, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
Mannan, 28, of Emily Street, Keighley, pleaded guilty to common assault.
After the incident, he left the house after throwing a punch at his wife’s shoulder.
Prosecutor Andrew Kershaw said it was the third time in a year that the police had been called to the property.
Mannan’s barrister, Jayne Beckett, said his marriage was over and he had no contact with his former wife.
Mannan was sentenced to a high-level community order with supervision and a 50-day high-intensity order by Judge Jonathan Rose who told him he had behaved in an “outrageous and disgraceful” way.
