Bradford City players were cheered on by schoolchildren today as they set off for tomorrow’s League Two play-off final against Northampton at Wembley.
Youngsters at St Matthew’s Primary School gathered at the Cedar Court Hotel in Rooley Lane to catch a glimpse of Phil Parkinson’s men as they stepped on board a coach to the capital in preparation for the hotly-anticipated clash.
Bob Curran, head teacher at the school, which is next to the hotel, said: “The children are very excited and are looking forward to the game, so we wanted to give them to opportunity to wish the players all the best.
“We have worked with Bradford City during the school year and have raised money for the Burns Unit.
“The children are very aware about how important the club is to our city and raising the profile of Bradford.
“It’s a special occasion and opportunities like this don’t happen often, so I’m sure the children will remember the experience for some time to come.
“We’d like to wish Bradford City all the best!”
