Tony Burgress, ‘The Clown Prince of Manchester Scallies’, who starred as DJ Troy in Johnny Vegas’s BBC sitcom Ideal, is appearing in Shipley on Monday night.
He tops the bill in the latest My Newt Comedy show at the Waterside Bar and Restaurant in Wharf Street.
The night’s opening act is Kiri Pritchard McLean, who won the Breakthrough Award at last year’s Nottingham Comedy Festival. Up-and-coming comics from the Northern Comedy circuit – Luke Archer, Nick Banks and Fran Garrity – will also be appearing.
Steeton stand-up and My Newt Comedy promoter Daniel Kennedy said: “We’ve set the bar exceptionally high with the quality of acts we’ve had at The Waterside so far.
“The pressure is always on to ensure the line-up is dripping with talent from the first act through to the headliner – and Monday night is no exception. It promises to be another fantastic night, and we’ve already lined up some exceptional comics for the summer months.”
Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Entry is £5. Space is limited, so the advice is get there early.
