Proposals to make Silsden Town Hall accessible to people with disabilities were deferred after Bradford planners admitted they had not followed their own planning rules.
The district council had revealed plans for a disabled ramp at the front of the hall, and a new fire escape to its rear.
But the plans were not backed by Silsden Town Council, and more than a dozen other local people objected. They claimed the application did not contain the details needed to permit such a change to a prominent building within the town’s conservation area.
Speaking at this week’s meeting of Keighley and Shipley Area Planning Panel, Silsden town councillor Margaret Croft said: “We have concerns about the design and materials of the ramp – unfortunately this information was not provided by the close of the of consultation period.”
