Bradford-based charity Yorkshire MESMAC has won a national award for improving sexual health The charity scooped the GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT award for its outstanding contribution to improving sexual health in Yorkshire at an award ceremony held at London’s Science Museum.
The organisation provides sexual health services including community-based rapid HIV testing, counselling, support groups for those infected and affected by HIV and sexual health promotion.
Yorkshire MESMAC also runs training on sexual exploitation for professionals, 94 per cent of whom said they would now be able to recognise the signs of a young man being groomed.
