TRINITY: Wilsden Trinity Church (formerly Methodist and United Reformed) congregation will be joining Wilsden St Matthew’s Church for a 10.30am service on Sunday (Pentecost Sunday), when Denise Poole will be preacher and presider. On Monday, there will be a coffee evening from 7.30pm to 9pm at Wilsden Trinity for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. It is hoped to continue these through to September on the second Monday of each month, a tradition formerly held at Harecroft Methodist before its closure last year.
TRAIL: Gardens are wanted in Wilsden, Cullingworth, Harden and surrounding areas for the 20th garden trail in aid of Manorlands. This will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7. Call Bob Naylor on 07977 878384.
COFFEE: A meeting is held on alternate Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 9pm in Wilsden Village Hall where you can have coffee and discussion on any issues that bother you. These are run by the Advance Church who hold services each Sunday at 10.30am in the village hall. Call (01274) 487388.
HALL: Wilsden Village Hall’s next fundraising event will be the Beer Festival on Saturday, June 1, from 11am to 11pm. This year it’s War of the Roses 2013; eight beers by Yorkshire Tykes and eight Lancashire creations. Drinkers will vote for their favourite tipple. Organisers want businesses to pledge £100 to sponsor a barrel. A cafe will be open all day, evening and supper. Live music by The Beerhouse Boys. Tickets are £5 and include free pint glass. DAY: There was a good response to the Charity Day held last Saturday, organised by Wilsden Conservative Club. They wish to thank everyone for their support which included a three-legged race between the club and Birchlands Avenue and raised over £700 for the Dave Hustler Burns Unit which supports victims of Bradford City Fire when 56 lost their lives.

CRICKET: Wilsden Cricket Club’s fixtures for Saturday in the Craven League are the Division Two first team home to Ingrow at Windy Grove and the Division Three second team away to Embsay. On Sunday the second team are home to Skipton CI in the first round of the Cowling Cup.
WALK: Wilsden Walkers who meet each Monday, 9.15am, at Wilsden Village Hall have just got their new T-shirts.
