Police are hunting a Bradford fugitive who is wanted in connection with a series of alleged distraction burglaries across the UK.

James Patterson, 32, failed to turn up for a court hearing in February and has not been seen since.

Police are anxious to trace Mr Patterson and have released a photo of him and a fresh appeal for help to locate him.

Police issued warrants for the arrest of Patterson, 32, and his co-accused, Karen Coombes, 52, both of Crown Street, Wyke, Bradford, after they failed to attend Newcastle Crown Court on February 11 for a preliminary hearing.

The pair were originally arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary after a number of alleged distraction burglaries across the UK in 2012.

Coombes was arrested in Newcastle after walking into a police station on May 7. She has since appeared in court.

But Patterson remains outstanding. Anyone with any information is asked to call Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
