Firefighters tackled a blaze at a Bradford scrapyard today.
Three engines were called to the scene in Spencer Road, Lidget Green.
Staff at a nearby business in Brackenbeck Road said firefighters arrived at about 2pm.
Dozens of onlookers watched as the smoke billowed into the sky.
Mohammed Khan, of nearby Cumberland Road, said: “I could see the smoke from my house so I came up to have a look.
“It sent a huge cloud of thick black smoke over the area – it was really spectacular.
“The firemen were struggling to get it under control for a start and managed to do that, but a lot of damage has been done.”
The cause of the blaze remained unclear.
