A lunch and fashion show in Bingley raised more than £2,000 for the charity Bowel Cancer UK.
The event yesterday was jointly organised by James Hinchcliffe and his friends Mary Seal, Joan Gregson and Mary Parker.
Mr Hinchcliffe, who lost his wife, Jo, to bowel cancer, said: “All four of us are delighted – we would have been happy to raise about £1,200 or £1,300.
“It has been hard work, but well worth it. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.”
The event, which attracted more than 110 guests, was at Bradford and Bingley Sports Club. It included a raffle and silent auction, which saw a weekend at a seaside cottage raise £250. Raffle prizes included champagne, perfume, clothing and accessories. The fashion show was by Ragdoll of Pudsey and the club provided a buffet.
