A Denholme teenager is taking his volunteering efforts for a local charity to the next level by climbing three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks.
James Hopkins, 18, who is head boy at Hipperholme Grammar School in Halifax, volunteers once a week at the Next Steps centre, a day centre in Calderdale for adults with disabilities. The keen walker recently decided to mix his hobby with his volunteering and attempt the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. He is training for the feat in-between revising for his A Levels and working towards his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
