Ashlands Primary School, in Ilkley, is having new classrooms built to accommodate more children.
There are four new classrooms being built, an extension to the playground and a remodelled entrance to school will take shape during the Autumn term.
Head teacher Andrew Soutar said: “This is an exciting time to be at Ashlands as the new buildings take shape.”
All pupils will have a chance to sit in a digger and have a photograph taken.
He said that the new classrooms would provide the children, staff and parents of Ashlands with the space to teach a ‘21st century curriculum’.
