A 21-year-old man has been jailed for five and a half years after he was caught with nearly 8kg of heroin on the A60 at Drighlington.
Zak Kennedy was arrested late on March 3 after an operation by West Yorkshire Police.
He was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Kennedy, of Burgon Crescent, Winterton, Scunthorpe, was jailed for four and a half years for the drugs offence and 12 months of a suspended prison sentence was activated on top.
After the case, Chief Inspector Dan Greenwood said: “This man was caught with a large amount of drugs in his car in the Bradford area and we hope that his conviction and sentence will serve as a warning to others involved in the transportation of controlled drugs.”
