A team of Bradford whiz-kids who want to be the next generation of Britain’s bosses have been highly commended in a school business enterprise awards scheme.
The six-strong squad from Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge, made a profit of £500 with three ventures. They sold 175 calendars to parents and friends and made even more money with pick ‘n’ mix sweets and toy goodie bags in a sale open to the public at the Merrion Centre in Leeds.
The team is led by 16-year-old Peter Dunn, who is in the Lower Sixth and is managing director of the school’s business enterprise, which goes under the name of Intelligence Qualities.
More than 30 schools were involved in the contest, organised by the Leeds Enterprise Advisory Programme. Overall winners were Allerton School in Leeds, which ran a tie-dye business.
