A student from the Aire Valley is preparing a £60,000 show garden for a prime spot at a national flower show.

Natalie Graham is part of a team of landscape architecture students from Leeds Metropolitan University working on the creation for the RHS Tatton Flower Show 2013.

Seven Peas in a Pod’s showpiece will be given a top location at July’s show, which last year attracted87,000 visitors.

The Yorkshire landscape inspired garden will include a pod with LED lighting, soft furnishings and music playing inside to provide a relaxation haven.

“It’s based around getting away from the stresses of everyday life,” said Natalie, 23, of Moorland Avenue, Baildon.

Once the garden has been displayed at the show, it will be donated to St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds for patients to use.

“St Gemma’s looks after people with serious illnesses and we didn’t want this to be just a show garden, we wanted to donate it somewhere where it would be useful and help people,” Natalie said.
