A family fun day event collected a hair-raising £1,135 for charity.

Jamie Boyle, 34, of Wibsey, put the event together after he vowed to give something back to good causes after being diagnosed with a serious illness four years ago.

The event involved a host of activities from a football tournament, sponsored waxing, a disco and race night at The Northern pub in Halifax Road, Bradford.

Three brave men parted also parted with their locks of hair and had a sponsored head shave.

An auction was also held which contributed £450 to the total collected. All the money raised is going to support Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale.
