The death of the counsellor was a second such tragedy her family had suffered.
Jackie and Tony Emmott’s son Sean, 24, was killed in a road accident in Scotland 1990 when he was driving to Dunfermline where he was training to be a land surveyor.
Following his wife’s death last year, Mr Emmott, a former Bradford councillor, said it was “like lightning striking twice”.
Mrs Emmott, of Ilkley, gained a Bradford University degree in the 1980s. She worked as a police welfare officer and counsellor at Bradford University counselling staff and students and also set up her own practice as a counsellor.
Mrs Emmott was also mother to twins Josephine and Richard and was a grandmother-of-four.
