A memorial service to remember the 56 people who died in the Valley Parade fire will be held in Bradford city centre tomorrow.
Relatives and friends of those who lost their lives, or were injured, will be among those at the 30-minute service in Centenary Square – 28 years to the day since the tragedy at Bradford City.
The service, which will be led by the Acting Dean of Bradford, the Reverend Canon Andrew Williams, with support from the Reverend Jimmy Hinton and the Reverend Andy Greiff, will start at 11am when the bells at City Hall play Abide with Me and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, will be joined by politicians and Council officers, as well as the Mayor and Consort and the Sheriff and Consort of Lincoln. The memorial will also be attended by Bantams’ players.
