Bradford University has been awarded first prize at the Greenbuild Awards for the refurbishment of its JB Priestley Library.
The project won the Education Retrofit category during Greenbuild Expo 2013, hosted by TV presenter Patrick Kielty.
Russell Smith, estates manager at the university said: “We are delighted that the university and JB Priestley Library have been acknowledged for its ground-breaking refurbishment.
“For some time the university has been recognised for its achievement in new-build sustainable construction and this showcases our work further.
“Given that improving the performance of existing buildings is arguably one of the biggest challenges facing the sector and the industry, it is pleasing that the university has started to address this challenge in a proactive, and successful, manner.”
