Researchers at Airedale Hospital are joining a national campaign to celebrate the success of clinical research and persuade more patients to get involved.
To mark International Clinical Trials Day on Monday, May 20, there will be information stands to raise awareness of how to become involved in research and opportunities to speak to the research team about local projects.
The hospital trust says clinical trials are a crucial part of finding out which treatments and medicines work best for patients.
The theme of the campaign led by the National Institute for Health Research this year is ‘It’s OK to Ask’.
There are 136 clinical trials running at Airedale, covering specialties such as cancer, stroke, elderly care, diabetes, cardiology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, rheumatology and gynaecology.
